Anna Soden

Anna is an Actor and Theatre Maker  (and nearly brave enough to call herself a writer), originally from North Yorkshire. She graduated from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in 2017.  She is also a musician and singer, playing bass, trumpet and guitar.

Anna has a very, very lovely time working as an actor, and would love to keep doing it, please. She has done Shakespeare, Actor-Musicianship, work for young audiences, Musical Theatre and worked at gorgeous theatres up and down the country. To read her credits scroll down or click here for her Spotlight page.

In 2020, she set up Strawberry Lion, since then she has been mentored by Emma Rice and Tom Wells, and has made two shows, "Five Children and IT" and "Mad For Our Daughters" (which you can read more about by clicking on the tabs in the menu at the top!).

York Theatre Royal's Travelling Pantomime, 2020

"Soden’s rapping, funky, blue and pink-haired Fairy is more likely to hit the bass line than wave a wand, as flashy as her lit-up boots."-

York Press

"Anna Soden’s fabulous Fairy entertained us with her rhyming raps, as well as playing a variety of instruments live"

Heaven's Gate Tour, 2020

"Anna Soden is Tinaodie, a loveable Baldrick-level imbecile who takes credit for much of the silly humour on offer here. Soden’s role is perhaps the most demanding too in that she must strike a balance between being the endearing twit and the tragic fool who has no knowledge of the wrongs inflicted upon them. "

Sleeping Beauty- Liverpool Everyman, 2019-2020

"Anna Soden is practically perfect in every way"- The Stage

"Anna Soden channels both her nanny namesake and Violet Elizabeth as prim, bossy Fairy Poppins"- Liverpool Echo

Romeo and Juliet- Mad Blood Stirring

Nele Needs A Holiday: The Musical 2018

"Anna Soden and Hannah Davis supporting on drums, guitar and keyboards... satirising posh flatmates, possessive boyfriends and loudmouth agents, it survives on strong musical arrangements, good humour and quirky charm. - The Guardian

"(Anna Soden and Hannah Davies are) talented and impressive, as they weave in and out of the narrative, playing as many characters as they do instruments"- Edfest Magazine
